Plicometry

What is Plicometry?

Plicometry is one of the most precise methods for determining the percentage of adipose tissue in the human body. It is performed with a plicometer, a spring gauge that exerts a pressure of 10g/mm2 to measure the thickness of certain fat folds, located in specific points of the body.

Who is it recommended for?

Useful not only for athletes but also for anyone who wants to know more about their health status.

When will it be done?

It will be done during the first visit to determine the starting physical condition of the subject and in subsequent visits to check the progress of the diet plan and/or training.

Together with the other measurements that we will perform during the visit (BIA and body circumferences) you will have the opportunity to know your physical condition:

  • Fat Mass (FM)

  • Fat Free Mass (FFM)

  • Total Muscle Mass (MM)

  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
